Social Workplace hosts the monthly Social Hour: Thirsty Third Thursdays every Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Get social at Social Workplace! Bring your best smile and plenty of business cards. Each person has a chance to pitch their business to the group with plenty of mingling before and after. Pitches start promptly at 6 p.m. and refreshments are served. Know anyone who might need a workplace or meeting space? Bring a friend!

Comedy Pop Up

Nick Gantt presents Comedy Pop Up on Saturday, November 16 from 8 to 10 p.m. at Social Workplace.

Enjoy a night out with some of LA’s funniest comics! The event features J. Chris Newberg (America’s Got Talent, The Tonight Show), Alex Hooper (America’s Got Talent, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle), Lisa Alvarado (The Latin Queen of Comedy) and Jay Washington (Comedy Central, Mad Titan Podcast).

BYOB. There’s plenty of parking available right outside the venue. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Show is 18+ The show will take place outside on the patio or in the main event room, depending on the weather.

Lomita State of the City Luncheon

The community is invited to attend the annual State of the City Luncheon on Thursday, November 21 from noon to 2 p.m. at Lomita Park Tom Rico Center.

Come learn about what’s happening in the community as the Lomita Mayor and City Council deliver the annual State of the City address.

Get a sneak preview of the new programs, partnerships and projects coming soon to the City. The Lomita Chamber of Commerce will also be revealing their new campaign to attract and retain early-stage and startup businesses to the community.

Lomita and Rancho Palos Verdes Santa Sleigh Tour

December 5 – 20, 2019

Santa Claus is coming to town!

The LA Sheriff’s Lomita Station hosts the annual Santa Sleigh Tour from Thursday, December 5 through Friday, December 20.

They’ll be guiding his sleigh through the streets of Lomita and Rancho Palos Verdes. A sheriff’s patrol car will precede Santa’s Sleigh announcing his arrival.

Look for Santa Stops Here signs along the route. Children of all ages are encouraged to come out, chat with Santa, and get a candy cane.

Lomita Holiday Tree Lighting

The City of Lomita hosts the annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday, December 6 at 5:30 p.m. in front of City Hall.

Attendees can sip complimentary coffee and hot cocoa while enjoying an evening of musical performances.

Santa & The Polar Express @ Lomita Railroad Museum

Polar-ExpressThe Lomita Railroad Museum presents Santa & The Polar Express on Sunday, December 15 from Noon to 4 p.m.

The community is invited for a special reading of The Polar Express and photos with Santa. In addition, there will be face painters, balloon animals, holiday crafts, hot chocolate and cookies and tours of the museum.

The price of admission is $20 per family and includes everything.

Lomita Railroad Museum

Lomita-Railroad-Museum sbbjThe Lomita Railroad Museum is dedicated to educating and informing the public about railroads — particularly of the steam era — the present, past, and future of transportation, the history of the U.S. Westward Expansion, the settlement of California, and the people who made this all happen.

The museum, located in Irene Lewis Park, is owned and operated by the City of Lomita and is overseen by the Lomita Parks & Recreation Department. Hours are Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum is closed for major holidays. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
