Naja’s is the ultimate harbor dive bar – it’s a fairly raucous scene and the acoustics leave much to be desired… but it’s a completely unique South Bay institution, adored by all and a favorite stop during a Strand Cruise!

The Bull Pen

bull pen

(310) 375-7797
314 Avenue I
Redondo Beach, CA 90277

Jackie says: The Bull Pen is a long established, seriously old-school, steak house. But don’t let the red vinyl banquettes, captain’s chairs and faux tiffany lamps fool you…..this place ROCKS every weekend with live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

The Slip

(310) 376-8910
120 North International Boardwalk
Redondo Beach, CA 90277

Jackie says: The Slip has live music on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, in addition to an Open Mic Night every Wednesday night beginning at 8 p.m. This fun, intimate venue is located at the water’s edge in the Redondo Marina and is a favorite dining destination and watering hole for locals.

The Standing Room

1320 Hermosa Avenue
Hermosa Beach, CA 90254

Jackie Says: The Standing Room offers acoustic sets Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. During the weekends, they feature bands coming through town on tour. There’s an impressively stocked bar, full menu, plenty of seating and dancing is encouraged. I like the feel of the space: brick walls, high ceilings, reclaimed wood. A great spot to kick back and enjoy a craft beer or house cocktail after a day at the beach. Don’t miss the South Bay Jam on Thursday nights at 9:30 (mostly locals) or Sundays at 5 p.m. (musicians from outside the bubble, but great none-the-less!).
