Redondo Beach Library Activities for January

January 1 – 31, 2019

The Redondo Beach Library offers a variety of activities for all ages including music, writing, dance, language, reading, crafts and more!

A few require registration but all of them are FREE!

January 1 – Libraries closed for New Year’s Holiday
The Main Library and North Branch Library will re-open on Wednesday, January 2.

TAC Meeting

Writer’s Meetup
January 5 at 10:30am-Noon

Calling all aspiring writers! Discuss topics writers want to explore, and have the opportunity to share information, get feedback on ideas and writing, and give and receive support and encouragement.

Spanish Language Practice
January 5 at 2:00pm-3:30pm

Both Adults and Teens are invited to this program. Improve your Spanish language skills through conversational practice under the guidance of a Spanish-speaking facilitator Olga Stohr. Participants should know a little Spanish.

Poetry Workshop

Italian Language Practice

Adult Book Discussion of the Month – Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of Lusitania, by Erik Larson

Baby Lapsit (0 to 18 months with caregiver)**
Tuesdays at 10:15am-10:45am (1/8, 1/15, 1/22 & 1/29)

Babies 0-18 months and their caregivers join in a fun storytime full of songs, rhymes and fingerplays!
**Session is limited to 40 individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Get your numbered passes in the lobby at 10:00am.

Ready To Read (3 & 4 year olds)
Wednesdays at 12:30pm-1:00pm (1/2, 1/9, 1/16, 1/23 & 1/30)
Main Library Storytime Room
A storytime just for 3 & 4 year olds full of early literacy concepts, songs, rhymes, movement and fun! Session is limited to 40 individuals on a first-come, first-served basis. Get your numbered passes at the Children’s desk at 12:15pm.

Toddler Storytime (18 to 36 months with caregiver) **
Thursdays at 10:15am-10:45am (1/3, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24 & 1/31)

Family Storytime at North Branch
Thursday at 1:00pm-1:30pm (1/3, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24 & 1/31)
North Branch Library Meeting Room
Family storytime for all ages that includes songs, rhymes and stories which celebrate reading and books. No tickets are required
