RBPD Coffee with a Cop

April 13, 2021

Join members of the Redondo Beach Police Department for Coffee with a Cop on Tuesday, April 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Redondo Beach Civic Center.

The Redondo Beach Police Department and members of the community will come together in a friendly, informal environment to discuss community issues, build relationships and enjoy a good cup of coffee. All community members are invited to attend. Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the police department’s work in Redondo Beach’s neighborhoods.

The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.

Engaging the community in public safety efforts is a top priority of the Redondo Beach Police Department. They share the community’s concerns and make every effort to address them. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.

Redondo Beach Civic Center is located at 415 Diamond St, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. The event will be held outside at the Civic Center just between the Police Department and the main Library at the corner of PCH and Diamond.
