Artesia Deli and Coffee & Peachwave Frozen Yogurt One Year Anniversary Party

July 10, 2021

Artesia Deli and Coffee, along with Peachwave Frozen Yogurt, will celebrate their One Year Anniversaries on Saturday, July 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The community is invited to come by and enjoy the best deli sandwiches, street tacos, and frozen yogurt in North Redondo, as well as free activities: face painting, balloon animals, giant games, caricatures, and lots of fun!

The businesses occupy the former location of the Artesia International Market. Owners, Ricardo Raposo and Johnny Da Silva took over in hopes of revitalizing the corner with a fresh look, new products, and self-serve frozen yogurt to meet the changing needs of the surrounding neighborhood. They did just that when the store opened on July 6, 2020.

As customers requested different items, the store adapted and now carries a variety of Boar’s Head deli products, specialty sandwiches, and gourmet coffee, as well as an array of international wines, unique soft drinks, and local craft beers. Peachwave features a variety of frozen yogurt, nondairy Dole soft serve flavors and over 100 toppings! Street tacos are back by popular demand on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Raposo shared, “The community has been incredibly supportive of our changes. We have many customers who enjoy supporting local companies and have genuinely loved our approach of featuring local breweries and businesses by stocking their products.” Customers enjoy feasting on a sandwich or fro-yo while sitting out front of the store and watching the neighborhood walk by. Chances are you’ll see a friend or meet someone new.

Raposo and Da Silva hail from South Africa and brought a bit of international flavors with them. You’ll find fresh, warm meat pies in the deli. Raposo states, “The meat pies are a food I grew up with in South Africa. They are a tasty snack leftover from the days of British rule.” Raposo is of Portuguese descent and enjoys sharing the traditional flavors and foods from his cultural upbringing with his customers. From the delicious Prego roll (Portuguese steak sandwich) to freshly baked pastéis de nata (custard tart), the deli provides a delicious selection of domestic and international flavors.

Raposo and Da Silva have transformed the corner of MacKay and Artesia to a popular neighborhood hangout where the employees are friendly, the sandwiches are made to order, and the fro-yo is perfect for the hot summer days.

Artesia Deli and Coffee and Peachwave Frozen Yogurt are located at 2232 Artesia Boulevard in Redondo Beach.
