Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, The Brews Hall will open their second location on Pier Plaza in Hermosa Beach.
Famed restaurateur Michael Zislis has just opened his latest project- The Brews Hall Hermosa Beach, located at 73 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach, CA. This is the same exact location where Zislis opened Brewski’s back in the 90’s.
The Hermosa pier location is the second installment of Zislis’s food hall and brewery concept.
The original Brews Hall opened in November 2019 in Torrance, CA, just South of Del Amo Fashion Center. The Torrance location houses a world-class brewery that makes two distinctly different brands of beer- Buzzrock Brewing Co. and George Lopez Brewing Co. The former exudes a Rock’N Roll attitude and is known for its special release from Dodger Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw, a grapefruit wheat ale called Kershaw’s Wicked Curve. George Lopez Brewing Co. brews up “Ta Loco Cerveza” and is known for its “crazy” and unusual flavors. The beers are available on draft at both Brews Hall locations plus other Zislis Group properties, as well as select grocery stores. In just its first year of operation, the brewery churned out several standouts at international craft beer competition, the 2020 Brewski Awards where they won gold, silver and bronze medals for various beers. The most impressive award went to the Rat Beach Red Ale from Buzzrock, which won the Platinum Medal with the most extraordinary and highest recommended beer of 2020.
The Hermosa Beach location is will officially open on Cinco De Mayo, 2021 and like the Torrance location, will be home to four distinctly different food concepts including: George Lopez’s Chingon Kitchen featuring authentic Mexican food, Colin Cowherd’s Herd Burger featuring Niman Ranch meat, all the proper sides and milkshakes, Chicken TWILI (The Way I like It), A tribute to fried chicken and Rock’N Fish Grill, a Manhattan Beach fish house favorite. While beer will not be brewed onsite, the restaurant will feature 16 Buzzrock Brewing Co., George Lopez Brewing Co. beers on draft plus a unique Seltzer concept where they take their freshly brewed Seltzers and include your choice of flavoring with a fresh juice side car. Seltzer TWILI (The Way I Like It) can be made custom to your flavor palate with a choice of 8 different fresh juices.
This location also features a full bar with signature frozen margaritas, boozy milkshakes and unique custom make-your-own-seltzer flavors (brewed at the Torrance location). The property features multiple large screen TVs and projectors with an expansive outdoor deck equipped with heaters and firepits. Opening hours will be 11:30AM-10PM Sunday- Thursday and 11:30AM- midnight Friday and Saturday serving lunch and dinner. Weekend Football Brunch is set to start September 2022. The project is commissioned by Michael Zislis, Dave Furano, Adam Goldberg and was designed by Larry Drasin of Drasin Designs.
