Celebrate Earth Day all month long at the Roundhouse Aquarium!

April 22, 2021 marks the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, and the Roundhouse Aquarium, managed by the Oceanographic Teaching Stations, is set to honor this milestone virtually with programs throughout the month of April. Sponsored by Chevron Corporation, The Port of Long Beach and Dive N’Surf, the four-part virtual celebration explores the magic of the ocean, its connection to humans and what people can do to protect it.

This FREE Series is appropriate for all ages and advanced reservations are required!

Saturday, April 17, 2021 – Celebrating Whales and Dolphins: Fantastic Flukes and Fins
9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. – Free Virtual Event
Meet the largest animals ever to live on earth! You’ll meet many animals that swim in the sea, but breath air like you and me. And, get a paper and pencil ready, and learn how to draw one of these amazing animals!

Thursday, April 22, 2021 – The Ocean In Your Bathtub-Virtual Reeding and Meet the Author
5:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m. – Free Virtual Event
Award-winning children’s book author Seth Fishman and the Roundhouse Aquarium partner to bring ocean science programming for an Earth Day virtual reading program! Attendees will view a fun and engaging video reading of “The Ocean In Your Bathtub,” and have a chance to meet Seth Fishman and Roundhouse Aquarium Scientist, Marissa Wu, as they answer your questions live!

Saturday, April 24, 2021 – Amazing Tidepools
9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. – Free Virtual Event
Join us as we trek through some local tidepools and explore what is hiding in the rocks. Discover what amazing superpowers tidepool animals have to help them survive and live a terrific tidepool life. Show off your animal superpowers when you participate in our learn and move.
