Robi Hutas R.I.P.

A message from John Post…..

It is with much sadness that we say goodbye to one of the South Bay’s iconic photographer-artist and friend, Bob Hutas.

He was a living inspiration to all he encountered with his honesty, energy and joy of life. Following up his early life experiences that few could imagine, he forged his own way in the South Bay. Robi was the first photographer to seriously document the coastal beach towns of our South Bay. He also led the way in beach volleyball photography and became a legend among the players while he documented the early days of beach volleyball, creating a visual base for the sport.

Over the years Bob and I made several forays into ‘the wild places’, it was always an adventure laced with photography, laughter, stories and tribulations since rarely was much planning involved, it was just, “Let’s go to… (often Owens Valley) and take some photos”. Some of that light and laughter is gone… My friend, you will be missed. 😥
