South Bay local, Matt McIvor has taken his hobby of crafting smash burgers to the streets and is hosting an official Proudly Serving Burgers Pop-Up on Saturday October 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Redondo Beach.
Proudly Serving was a success from the start. Beginning in March 2020, Proudly Serving began serving smashed burgers to the residents of the Golden Hills neighborhood in Redondo Beach. Word quickly got out and within weeks, Chef Matt of Proudly Serving was arranging safe and contactless burger drop-offs to those who were in-the-know. After months of quietly providing burgers through word of mouth, Proudly Serving is opening up orders for a one-day-only pick-up, pop-up in Redondo Beach.
Experience Proudly Serving’s signature burger, the P.S Burger; a Double Cheeseburger with cheese (obviously), griddled onions, pickles, and a secret burg sauce served on a potato bun for $9.00. Chef Matt has arranged a limited number of burgers to be pre ordered via Venmo. A limited amount of additional items will be available for purchase including South Baked’s Stay Salty Chocolate Chip Cookies, which are also a South Bay favorite!
“To be respectful to our neighbors and our health, I will have one-hour time slots to choose from when ordering so we can practice social distancing and keep everyone safe. Walk ups will be available but we can’t promise they will last long.” says Chef Matt.
To place your order, simply Venmo @ProudlyServing and include how many burgers, your time slot (1-2pm, 2-3pm, 3-4pm). All pre-orders must be placed by Thursday, October 22. Walk ups are welcome on a first come first serve basis. No mask, no burger.
