The South Coast Botanic Garden will host a Mother’s Day Soiree Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 9.
The Bar Society will be selling craft cocktails and mocktails at two beautifully designed bars, one set up in front of the Bohannon Rose Garden and the other in the Desert Garden. There will also be three Instagrammable photo moments to snag the PERFECT shot with Mom, including the popular L-O-V-E letters.
The photo ops will be set up all three days, but the bars will be open only from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (there will be extended hours to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting May 1), and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. In addition to selling craft cocktails and mocktails, The Bar Society will also have small charcuterie boxes for sale. Both the drinks and the boxes are available while supplies last.
While it will be difficult to resist the urge to sip your yummy drinks while walking around our beautiful 87 acres, it is asked that people who want to consume any food or beverages enjoy them while seated in one of the designated picnic areas. Besides, there’s no reason to rush around. Sit, relax and enjoy the time you have with Mom. It’s been a rough year for everyone, but Moms have been doing double duty worrying for themselves AND their kids, dealing with remote or hybrid schooling, and/or trying to work with limited daycare options. So, there’s nobody more deserving of a glass of wine (or whatever her drink of choice may be) while enjoying the lush spring blooms….. And you can make the day even more special with a visit to SOAR!
Tickets to our Mother’s Day Soirée are the same as regular Garden Admission. Cost is free for Members and $15 for Adults, $11 for Seniors (62 and over) and Students (with ID), $5 for Children ages 5 – 12, and free for Children 4 and under.
