Baroque Concert

Kontrapunktus presents Il Barocco: The Italian Influence in Two Parts at Ascension Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m.

Il Barocco celebrates the influence that acclaimed Italian Baroque composers (a.k.a. Antonio Vivaldi, Archangelo Corelli, etc.) had on their German and English contemporaries such as Johann Sebastian Bach. Georg Philipp Telemann and Charles Avison. Kontrapunktus will also be performing new Baroque music from Composer-in-Residence, Mark Moya.

Kontrapunktus is a Baroque orchestra comprised of exceptionally talented classical musicians from the prestigious Colburn School and is led by Artistic Director and renowned harpsichordist, Ian Pritchard.

Joining him on stage will be Concertmaster, Kako Miura, violinists Alena Hove and Tiffany Kang, violists Ben Chilton and Christopher Rogers-Beadle, cellist Vardan Gasparyan, and flutist, Sieon Choi.

There will be a meet-and-greet reception with the musicians after the concert for patrons. All are welcome, admission and parking are FREE.
