KONTRAPUNKTUS is set to premiere its third virtual concert, OPUS SIX: The Magic of Handel, on YouTube Live via their Kontrapunktus Baroque YouTube channel on Saturday, June 19 at 7:00 PM PST.
Entitled OPUS SIX: The Magic of Handel, KONTRAPUNKTUS will be performing four richly nuanced, yet seldom played concertos by the immortal Baroque composer, George Frideric Handel.
The movements to the music contain a full range of compositional styles, including airs, fugues, themes, and dance variations. It would be one of Handel’s last compositions in the Italian style.
KONTRAPUNKTUS is led by renowned harpsichordist, Dr. Ian Pritchard, and is comprised of some of the finest classical musicians in the world who hail from the Colburn School, the Juilliard School, and the New England Conservatory of Music.
