Halloween @ South Coast Botanic Garden

October 31, 2020

This year, celebrate Halloween at the South Coat Botanic Garden!

It’s been a weird year and things are only getting spookier with Halloween around the corner. The team at SCBG is trying to make it a little less scary for those looking to celebrate in a safe way this year, so the community is invited to visit the Garden on Halloween dressed in costume!

You may be feeling a little down and out about this year’s Halloween with trick-or-treating being frowned upon. But just because you can’t go house to house for some candy, doesn’t mean you can’t run around the Garden for some! All Garden visitors are encouraged to come to the Garden dressed in costume (yes, masks are still required).

The staff will be joining in as well and will be handing out fun bingo cards for you to go on a hunt through the Garden. Parents are encouraged to make it even more fun for the kids by bringing a bag of candy with you. Every time they cross off a square on their bingo card, they’ve earned a piece of candy! It’s a new, creative way of trick-or-treating safely during this COVID era.

Coming to the Garden dressed in costume isn’t just fun… it’s a competition! Take your most creative pics in the Garden (there are definitely some spooky spots for a fun backdrop and there will be some photo ops set up) and post it to your Instagram account using the hashtag #SouthCoastBOOtanicGarden AND tag @scbgarden for your chance to win free tickets to an exciting exhibit at the Garden this fall.

The Garden aims to be a place of respite for the community during these times, and we hope to see you all here in the Garden for a little Halloween fun – it’s what we ALL could use right now.

Garden hours for Halloween day are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance ticket reservations are required
