Destination:Art – On the Bright Side Artist Reception

March 13, 2021

Destination:Art will host the On the Bright Side Artist Reception on Saturday, March 13 at 4 p.m. via Zoom.

Destination: Art’s On the Bright Side is not only its first Gallery show of 2021, it also reflects the attitude at the non-profit studio and gallery. The three-month online/in-Studio event features 60 paintings by 12 artists.

Don’t miss the lively discussion on the use of “brights” in painting, and the influence of the Fauve Movement. Led by the South Bay’s own Frank Minuto and surprise guests. You’ll want to be online to congratulate all the Gallery Artists and to hear about the incredible updates at Destination: Art.

Among those exhibiting in the Gallery for the first time are acclaimed artist, instructor and mentor Frank Minuto, a South Bay legend whose art is in collections around the world.

Destination: Art Studio Artists Sue Kuuskmae, Vicki Sekits and Douglas Castleman will have pieces in the Gallery show, the latter two for the first time. Others contributing to this show are first-timer Judy English; Georgeann Dumkreiger, Anna Yu, Lynn Mikami and Lois Olsen; and well-know affiliates Richard Stephens, Kathy Bergstrom, and Dave Wolfram.

“We are capitalizing on our success at doing online shows for almost a year,” says Robin Johns, Destination: Art Vice President. “We have been able to expand exponentially in our reach of art lovers, collectors and those who are curious through digital marketing and ZOOM® receptions.”

‘On the Bright Side’ captures exactly how we feel about 2021,” Johns continued. “Our success last year is nothing short of phenomenal. We pivoted early to online shows and hybrid classes — some students in the studio with the instructor, and the rest on Zoom — and have more than just ‘weathered the storm’ and we are delighted that we’ve attracted such diverse and talented artists to our Studio and Gallery art space.”

“Of course, we are open to the public by appointment, following state and county COVID-19 regulations,” she continued. “There’s nothing quite like the in-gallery experience, so we can arrange a small group private showing.”

Advance registration is required to attend the Artist Reception. Register at https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAuc-mvrjsqGdfGSEXrcgrUd30pMz5G_2hY .
