The Western Museum of Flight presents the Celebrity Lecture Series: A Rain of Fighter Planes – The P-40 Tomahawks of the 57th Pursuit Group with guest speaker, G.Pat Macha on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m.
In exigencies of WWII, commanders found it necessary to take risks with their aircraft and with their pilots they would never take during peace time, but they had to be prepared immediately to go into combat. As a result, many were lost in the accelerated training that was necessary to push as many pilots as possible to the front. But those who survived went on to prove themselves to be the terror of the nations who had dared to threaten the United States. Learn what is known about the airmen that went missing during this era as told to Mr. Macha by some of those who survived it.
Admission is free for museum members and $10 for non-members.
