Waterfront Education’s Response to the Coronavirus

March 24, 2020

Dear Waterfront Education families, friends, staff, and valued partners,

As you are probably aware, there is growing concern regarding COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. This disease causes respiratory illness and is becoming more and more widespread, now being classified a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). The health and safety of our students, staff, and partners is of utmost importance to all of us here at Waterfront Education.

With this in mind, our Board of Directors has decided to take a conservative and cautious approach in alignment with many regional school districts. Our scheduled classes will be cancelled for the next two weeks. We will continue to monitor and address the spread of COVID-19. We hope to begin our classes again on Monday – March 30th. However, we will of course remain flexible and do whatever is best for the health and safety of our students and educators.

Due to the nature of our hands-on and place-based experiential learning programs, we will be unable to offer remote or virtual classes during this time. Instead, we will reschedule our semester to ensure all students have the opportunity to finish off their classes and adventures with us. We will share more information regarding this postponement in the upcoming weeks. Refer to our frequently asked questions.

As always, please feel free to reach out to us at learn@waterfronteducation.org if you have any questions or concerns regarding this two-week cancellation. We will be sharing more information as this situation continues to develop. We thank you for your patience during this turbulent time and we hope you all stay healthy and well.
