The Unheard L.A. Salon will take place on Thursday, July 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.
The Unheard LA Salon was designed to help people who like the idea of telling a story, but feel unsure, or reluctant, about participating. The Salon features three past Unheard LA storytellers along with members of the KPCC In Person team. It’s like a stripped-down mini show without a stage, and often without a mic.
Think Unheard LA sounds interesting? Then you should consider attending the upcoming Salon, which is like a mini storytelling show and informational meeting all rolled into one (with snacks!).
How to Participate in Unheard LA
-Come to the Story Salon on July 18th and learn more about Unheard LA and how it works. The salons are intended to demystify the process and encourage shy or reluctant storytellers to share their story.
-Submit a story for a show. Not every story will make it to the stage, but every story will be read, and you will receive a response. If you have a story percolating in your mind, visit the website to start the submission process.
-Come to the Unheard LA show on October 13th. You’ll get to hear stories from seasoned and new storytellers, and afterwards there will be a reception where you’ll be able to meet the storytellers and maybe share a story (or two) of your own.
