Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach presents Sunset at the Beach, A Virtual Event on Thursday, October 1 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Join Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach (CSCRB) for Sunset at the Beach a live stream event to benefit CSCRB’s free support programs for cancer patients and their loved ones. CSCRB’s very first virtual event will be hosted by award-winning actor, television host, and comedian Mark DeCarlo. CSCRB looks forward to gathering with old friends and new all while safe at home in support of the people in our lives who have been touched by cancer.
“We are honored to have Mark DeCarlo join us for this special night and to bring this opportunity for people to participate in one of our events from the comfort of their home or wherever they might be,” said CSCRB Executive Director/CEO Joey Shanahan.
“Cancer Support Community has continued to offer new and innovative support during this time. Since the onset of the pandemic, we have offered more than 740 virtual support programs and welcomed nearly 90 newly diagnosed individuals and family members on the new virtual platform. The funds raised at this event will help us to sustain and grow these programs so that no one faces cancer alone.”
The evening will include an appearance by Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand as well as a CSCRB inspirational speaker who will share their story of cancer survivorship. Attendees can bid on the many valuable live and silent auction items offered at the event. Choose among a variety of fabulous trips, health and beauty, entertainment and sports items, and much more. Highlights include a two-night stay at Chateau Robles estate in Paso Robles with ownership of ten vines for the 2021 season, two hours of flight time for six passengers on a private jet, a week stay at a condo in Mammoth, a flyover and passenger ride with the Torrance Tiger Squadron, and an exciting ride for two on the Goodyear Blimp.
Registration for the event is FREE and includes one free entry for an opportunity to get away for a staycation at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes for two-nights. Extra entries can also be purchased online. All proceeds will be directed to CSCRB’s free support programs for cancer patients and their families.
