Dog’s Day at the Garden

January 25, 2020

The South Coast Botanic Garden will host Dog’s Day at the Garden on Saturday, January 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dogs’ Day at the Garden welcomes all leashed dogs to explore most of the Garden’s 87 acres (there will be some areas off limits for dogs).

Dogs’ Day will also feature Dog Yoga with Rory, and demos from the Lomita Obedience Training Club and A Bark Idea Training. Vendors like Furkids Boutique, Camp Run-A-Mutt and Redondo Dog will also be on site selling treats and accessories your fur babies will love. There will also be refreshments available for our two-legged friends including food, beer and wine!

Feeling all the dog love? Get it captured on camera by Diana Lundin Pet Photography who will be taking free pet portraits!

“We’re always looking for new, exciting events to bring to the Garden and based on the number of inquiries we get about whether dogs are allowed here, we thought it was time to open the gates to our four-legged friends,” said Adrienne Nakashima, chief executive officer, South Coast Botanic Garden. “The Garden is an enjoyable, peaceful place for many people in the South Bay, and the only way we could think to make it more enjoyable was by being able to experience it with your best friend.”

Visitors who bring their four-legged friends will be expected to pick up after their pet and keep them on a leash at all times. There will also be designated dog-free areas for those who don’t wish to participate in Dogs’ Day.

Admission is free with membership or Garden admission. Dogs are $1 per paw.
