These are truly difficult times and we hope that this message finds you all safe and healthy.
In light of the recent L.A. County ‘Safer At Home’ order, we wanted to update you on the protocols Richstone has enacted that change the way we are advancing our mission to prevent child abuse and neglect given the restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within our community.
Protecting children is at the forefront of our minds and is even more critical in these uncertain times. Many of our families are faced with loss of income, food shortages and fear of sickness. For those with a history of child abuse and domestic violence, being restricted to the home creates a particularly difficult situation in which it’s not safe to leave the house, but it may not be safe to stay in the house.
As such, our position is to remain steadfast and ensure we are available to help the vulnerable children and families who need us.
• Richstone’s office locations are currently closed until further notice. While our physical sites may be closed, we are still busy providing services. Staff are working remotely and accessible via email and telephone. Voice messages are constantly checked, so please leave a message if not an emergency matter.
• Therapy appointments are being conducted via phone and/or Zoom (online meeting). Classes, groups and our Kids Club program are cancelled until further notice.
• We, regretfully, must also postpone our annual Richstone Walk fundraiser, scheduled for April 25.
Our thoughts are with all who have had their personal and professional lives impacted by the current situation. Know that we are all in this together.
