Opera Talks: Akhnaten

April 27, 2021

The Redondo Beach Public Library will host Opera Talk on Tuesday, April 27 from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom.

The event is held in partnership with The Opera League of Los Angeles. Opera Talks are 50-minute, interactive presentations led by LA Opera’s Community Educators. This month, attendees will discuss the opera Akhnaten, the first in a trilogy of Opera Talks titled “If it Weren’t For Opera… I Would Not Know a Thing About…”.

Akhnaten is the story of a revolutionary young pharaoh whose incredible contributions to history and the arts were erased from the world’s memory for 3000 years. Rediscovered 100 years ago, Akhnaten is the title character of Philip Glass’ mesmerizing opera.

The program is free and open to the public, but you must register in advance at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEpd-uhpz4oH9enQq48w-0LBNc3mIBK4eA3.
