Neptunian Woman’s Club Awards Scholarships to Deserving South Bay Students

Mira Costa ScholarshipsFor over three decades, the Neptunian Woman’s Club of Manhattan Beach has provided scholarships for students to further their education in a variety of academic endeavors.

This year, the Neptunian Woman’s Club has donated $60,500 to Mira Costa High School and El Camino College students. Ten deserving Mira Costa High School students were awarded scholarships, each receiving $4,500 to help them attend college. One outstanding Mira Costa Student received the Dr. James Withers Scholarship of $500 to help his orthodontics education. Another ten qualifying students from El Camino College each received $1,500 to help subsidize college tuition, books, and other fees.

The Neptunian Woman’s Club holds three large fundraising events throughout the year – the Holiday Fashion Show & Luncheon, the Holiday Wrap, and a Food, Wine & Music event.

Proceeds are donated towards scholarships to empower local students in need. The Neptunian’s believe access to educational resources will only enhance the community’s success. This multi-generational organization has a deep-seated tradition, for over 100 years, in bringing together passionate women to support and serve the changing needs of our local communities and build a better place to live.
