Most people have not yet heard about the impending Terrenea Shuttle Service to and from Riviera Village. I casually mentioned it in a post last week and have been bombarded with inquiries for details. I don’t have ALL the info yet but I’ll let you in on what I know.
Newly-elected Redondo Beach City Council Member, Jeff Ginsburg, has been instrumental in making this service happen – and he’s the first to insist he couldn’t have gotten this far without the assistance and input of lots of other people within the City, the Riviera Village Business Improvement District and Terrenea Resort. Anyway, the entire concept is genius – kudos to you Jeff!
Okay, so here’s what I know: the idea is to offer those staying at Terrenea Resort an opportunity to shop, dine and get beachside outside the Terrenea bubble with a convenient shuttle service to and from Riviera Village.
The shuttle stop will be located at the kiosk on Catalina Avenue and Vista del Mar where Soil Gardening is currently located. If you’ve been by recently, you’ll have noticed the landscape, hardscape and curb improvements along with a couple of newly installed palm trees.
The details haven’t been hammered out yet but with the shuttle going back and forth several times a day, bringing guests from Terrenea to the Village, ideally, the shuttle will also bring South Bay residents and visitors to Terrenea. In a perfect world, this will be a free service.
The shuttle stop is expected to be completed in early June and it is hoped that other area resorts and hotels will sign up for the service.
This is an absolute win-win for Terrenea and the entire South Bay and I can’t wait to use the service to head to Terrenea for the Nelson’s Summer Concert Series this summer! Woohoo!
