MAJOR UPDATE TO THE OUTDOOR DINING BAN!

November 23, 2020

I received this today from the Riviera Village Association…..

MAJOR UPDATE TO THE OUTDOOR DINING BAN! We need you!

The requirement prohibiting outdoor dining in LA County HAS NOT YET BEEN PASSED!

We have been notified by one of the Beach Cities’ Mayors that Director Ferrera’s order requires a vote of the LA County Board of Supervisors TOMORROW (Tuesday) MORNING at 9:30AM.

All 11 Riviera Village Board members voted in record time to OPPOSE the BAN.

Additionally, we have gotten wind that one of the supervisors does NOT support the Outdoor Dining Closure and this is our chance to be heard. The general public does not know that this is going to a vote, so nobody is opposing it at this time. But all of us have the power to generate hundreds of comments and unify our voices.

The Riviera Village Association IMPLORES you to do the following:

1) Leave an “Oppose” comment in regards to Agenda Item S-1, specifically the prohibition of Outdoor Dining. Make it clear that we’ll accept a 50% reduction in restaurant capacity — it’s all compromise. We need to generate a massive amount of comments to make our voice heard.
Leave your “oppose” comment at https://publiccomment.bos.lacounty.gov/.

The full Agenda can be found at http://bos.lacounty.gov/LinkClick.aspx .

2) The Mayor of Redondo has expressed his opposition to the prohibition of Outdoor Dining, and it would be helpful to have the Hermosa and Manhattan Mayors do the same through e-comments. If you have a direct line of contact to either, please reach out to them.

We’re running out of time! Please comment on the matter ASAP so it becomes part of the public record.

Thank you for your help! We can do this!
