Los Angeles Times Moves to El Segundo

El-SegundoThe beachside city of El Segundo will be the new home of the award-winning Los Angeles Times. The announcement was made recently by Los Angeles Times’ soon-to-be owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong in a meeting with Times staff.

“We are honored Dr. Soon-Shiong chose El Segundo as the new home for the Los Angeles Times. El Segundo is already home to the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Air Force Base and now, the Los Angeles Times,” noted El Segundo Mayor Suzanne Fuentes.

“El Segundo has a rich history of advancements in technology and innovation in aerospace and many other industries. Dr. Soon-Shiong has identified our city as a great place to do business, and we look forward to welcoming all the Los Angeles Times’ staff,” said El Segundo City Manager, Greg Carpenter.

“The city is thrilled to be recognized for the business opportunities we offer. El Segundo has seen a continuous surge of investment over the past few years, and we look forward to being a partner in the Los Angeles Times’ new era,” said Economic Development Manager, Barbara Voss.

Dr. Soon-Shiong was honored as the 2017 El Segundo Champion of Business by the City of El Segundo and the El Segundo Economic Development Advisory Council. The award honors a business or individual that has helped broaden awareness of El Segundo and who has been a significant contributor to the economic development of the city.

The City of El Segundo is a coastline community in the south bay region of Los Angeles County. Recognized as the aerospace capital of the world, it is renowned for maintaining a quaint, small town atmosphere as well as a thriving business environment that caters to some of the world’s most prestigious corporations.
