Lomita C.E.R.T Class

March 14, 21, 28, 2020

The City of Lomita, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department, will host a three day C.E.R.T. Course on March 14, 21 & 28 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Lomita City Hall

Following a major disaster, fire and rescue resources may be unable to immediately respond to all those in need. In such a crisis, it will be neighbors assisting neighbors until emergency response personnel can arrive. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training provides residents with the skills and tools necessary to take care of themselves, their families, neighbors, and coworkers in the event of a disaster.

The CERT Training is offered free of charge and includes hands-on training in the following units:
•Disaster Preparedness
•Disaster Fire Suppression
•Disaster Medical Operations
•Light Search and Rescue Operations
•Disaster Psychology and Team Organization

•C.E.R.T. Organization
•Terrorism
•Course Review and Hands-On Drill Simulation

After being CERT trained, participants will have the opportunity to participate in additional trainings and drills hosted by Lomita CERT.
