A letter from Leadership Redondo Class of 2018….
The Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce annually sponsors a leadership program for individuals interested in learning about Leadership and our community. Additionally, each leadership class identifies a need in the community and develops a plan to address the issue.
After meeting with members of the Redondo Beach Police Department, the Leadership Redondo Class of 2018 has identified a need. The Police Department lacks a safe and secure location dedicated to effective training of their specialized K-9 units. Currently, law enforcement dogs are trained in open, public parks, which are difficult to reserve and not well-equipped for K-9 operations. Fortunately, the City of Redondo Beach has an appropriate vacant space that can be utilized adjacent to Dominguez Park. However, this property requires substantial site preparation and installation of landscaping, irrigation and fencing.
I am writing to ask for your support in our efforts to provide a safe and secure training facility for the K-9s units who are an integral part of our Redondo Beach Police Department. We also anticipate other local law enforcement agencies utilizing this badly needed facility.
We are currently in the fundraising phase of the project. Our goal is to raise $15,000 from community participation by September 1st, at which time the site preparation and fencing phase will commence.
Please help us reach our goal and make your tax-deductible check to:
