Fall Festival @ South Coast Botanic Garden

October 12 – 13, 2019

The South Coast Botanic Garden will host one of the South Bay’s largest and most anticipated music and craft festivals. The Garden’s inaugural Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attendees can sip hot drinks and local craft beer while listening to live music by the Windy Ridge Bluegrass Band. Artisans will be showcasing a selection of handmade crafts for sale, including jewelry and artwork.

Vendors include Ex Libris & Kumlin Design, featuring fall themed garden décor; Cottage Lopez Farms, selling fall vegetables like corn and squash; and the Artists’ Studio of Palos Verdes. A variety of plants will also be for sale, including plants propagated at the South Coast Botanic Garden, as well as Rare Fruit Growers.

“Our first Fall Festival is a unique opportunity for visitors from the Beach Cities and across Los Angeles County to celebrate the changing seasons in our beautiful 87-acre garden,” said Adrienne Nakashima, Chief Executive Officer, South Coast Botanic Garden. “The Fall Festival combines family-friendly entertainment with a chance to learn about our natural environment.”

Among the food and drink vendors at the Fall Festival will be Pint Fermin, San Pedro’s premier Kombucha brewing company. Pint Fermin will offer Kombucha workshops where participants can make their own kombucha to take home.

The Fall Festival is in conjunction with the Garden’s The Great Pumpkin Hunt, where visitors search for pumpkins that have been hidden throughout the Garden’s 87 acres as they make their way to the Adventure Zone (a great fall-photo opp).

Visitors will also have the chance to experience newly-installed artwork on loan from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Hide and Seek: Art Meets Nature, the garden’s new exhibit opened in September and is a collaboration between the South Coast Botanic Garden, one of Southern California’s top outdoor education and recreation centers, and LACMA. The exhibit features six sculptures on loan through the next 10 years.

Entry into the Fall Festival is free with a South Coast Botanic Garden membership or general admission ticket.
