Dia de Los Muertos Celebration

October 28, 2016

dia de la muertaArt Flying Yoga & Art Flying Aerial will be celebrating Ofrenda de Dia de los Muertos on Friday, October 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. This special day celebrates the lives of people who have passed away. This is a FREE celebration for everyone that wants to honor the passing of a beloved one.

The Aztecs developed the ritual some 3,000 years ago because they believed one should not grieve the loss of a beloved ancestor who passed. Instead, the Aztecs celebrated their lives and welcomed the return of their spirits to the land of the living once a year. That’s where the food, drinks, music, (ofrendas) offerings come in.

1.- Potluck (bring your favorite dish to share)
2.- Bring picture(s)
3.- Write a calavera (short poem in the form of epitaphs of your beloved one), it could also be a poem, a message or quote!! A funny story, weird habits, or embarrassing moments.

Celebrate dia de los muertos with happiness by sharing the ofrenda. Art Flying Yoga will provide Pan de Muerto, Hot Chocolate and Fruit Salad.
