1935 Manhattan Beach Boulevard
Redondo Beach CA 90278
Jackie Says: RBPAC is the largest music venue (1,457 seats) in the South Bay and showcases some of the hottest musical talent in the world. They host the Southern California Slack Key Festival, the Aloha Falsetto Festival, the Los Angeles Flamenco Festival, the Los Angeles Guitar Festival and the Gypsy Jazz Festival. It’s a teriffic venue to see a variety of great musical styles.
30 Pier Avenue
Hermosa Beach, CA 90254
Jackie Says: The Lighthouse Cafe has been around since the 1940s and has traditionally been the go-to spot for great jazz. These days, they mix it up with all types of music but it’s still one of the best, most intimate music venues in Southern California. If you’re looking for a classic beach vibe, stop by any Sunday for the Jazz Brunch followed by Reggae Sunday.
202 The Pier
Redondo Beach, CA 90277
Jackie Says: Old school watering hole on the Redondo Beach Pier featuring generous pours, good prices, dance floor and kickass rock and blues. One of my favorite spots to kick back with friends – think shorts, tanks and flip flops. This is as South Bay as it gets!
