http://www.ortega120.com/
Cuisine: Modern Mexican
Jackie says: A classic cantina with a comfortable outdoor patio. Huge tequila selection and the place to go for margaritas! Not the same old Mexican dishes – don’t get me wrong, I love traditional Mexican food but they put an appetizing twist on just about everything and it works!

Hudson House

Redondo Beach, CA 90277

Cuisine: New American Gastropub
Jackie Says: This space has a great vibe – it’s a cross between a speakeasy (dark and intimate) and Irish Pub (comfortable and friendly). The eclectic menu changes regularly and has a little something for everyone. The prices are very reasonable and they offer over 50 types of beer.

Cheesecake Factory

Redondo Beach, CA 90277
(310) 376-0466

Cuisine: American
Jackie says: You’d be hard pressed not to find what you’re looking for on the huge menu – appetizers, soups, salads, pasta, fish, burgers, pizza, traditional entrees and the list goes on and on. The location overlooks King Harbor and as popular as it is, there’s rarely a wait for a table. Portions are huge so plan on sharing or taking home leftovers.

Cuisine: New American
Jackie says: This is a lovely spot to dine overlooking King Harbor. Weekends feature live music in the chic lounge and during the warmer months, music & BBQ on the lower level outdoor lounge. The menu offers a generous selection of tapas, appetizers and hand-crafted cocktails and I’ve eaten just about every entre on the menu. A couple of my favorites are the short ribs and Baja style tacos but if you’re in the mood for a divine cut of meat, order the Tommy Hawk. I’m a regular for brunch on the patio and can’t get past the Pain Perdu – it’s the best I’ve ever had!

Buca di Beppo

1670 Pacific Coast Highway
Redondo Beach,CA 90277
310-540-3246
http://www.bucadibeppo.com/locations/default.aspx
Cuisine: Italian
Jackie says: If you’re in the mood for a casual Italian meal complete with red checkered tableclothes, Jerry Vale music and straw covered chianti bottles, this is the place. It’s a very popular spot for large parties and the volume in the dining rooms can be loud so I suggest eating at one of the booths in the bar. Meals are served family style.

Jackie says: There’s a reason this eatery is popping up all over the South Bay – it’s very good. It’s my ‘go-to’ spot when I need to get away from my desk in the late afternoon for a snack.
