Black-History-CelebrationThe Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce are proud to present the annual Black History Celebration on Friday, February 24 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Torrance Marriott

Hosted by Emmett Smith, award-winning journalist and freelance National News Correspondent for ABC News, the event will celebrate and honor the outstanding achievements of the following individuals:

LEGACY AWARD – Olympic Gold Medalist: Valerie Brisco-Hooks
INPIRATIONAL SPIRIT AWARD – CSUDH Student: Asia Watkins
LEGACY AWARD – American Soul/R&B Group: The Emotions
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AWARD – Attorney, Advocate & Commentator: Areva Martin

PROFESSIONAL SPIRIT AWARD – NFL Offensive Lineman & Sports Commentator: Chester Pitts II
LEADERSHIP & COMMUNITY COMMITMENT AWARD – President, CSUDH: Dr. Willie J. Hagan
HUMANITARIAN AWARD – Commander, Los Angeles Air Force Base: Lt. Gen. Samuel A. Greaves

Tickets are $55 for Torrance Area Chamber Members and $75 for non-Members. The schedule is as follows: 10:30am: Walk of History Vendors Open; 11:00am: Registration; 12noon-2pm: Event & Luncheon.
